Awesome Authors and The Great Outdoors

During our “Awesome Authors” session, we read various classic children’s books including The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and The Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. Then we made various crafts and snacks to coordinate with the books.
For “The Great Outdoors,” we went on a nature walk and collected items for leaf rubbings and nature collages. We colored and baked rocks, made apple stamps and learned more about the native ecosystem and the desert. We went bird watching, made bird feeders, made handprint suns, and enjoyed mud pie snacks!

Shipwrecked

As the “Shipwrecked” session comes to a close, the crew and captain are exhausted from all their hard work on deck. We made eye patches, pirate flags, hand hooks, aquariums and treasure maps; built pirates and parrots out of paper rolls; went on treasure hunts; battled with marshmellow shooters and much more. Now, bring me that horizon!

Outdoor Fun and Outer Space

We are halfway through the summer and our friends at Camp FMS have been having fun playing games, making crafts and learning new things. So far, our sessions have included Cowboys and Indians, Edible Art, Raiders of Lost Worlds, Stars and Stripes and Animal Planet (Elementary); and Let’s Get Cooking, Ooey Gooey Messy Fun, Olympic Fun, Hands-On Science, and Space is the Place (Primary). Check out the pictures below!

You can still sign up for our remaining sessions, either for the week (full-day or half-day) or just drop in for the day. Elementary camps include tennis lessons and swimming at nearby DragonRidge Country Club. All camps are led by qualified and caring professionals on the secured Foothills Montessori School campus.
